  1. I just voted for you:) I discovered your blog only a few weeks ago but I totally love it. Im a book addict so I love your posts about the stuff you read (especially islamic books, it's hard to know which ones are good so your reviews are really useful for me), and all other posts as well. Jazakallahu khair for creating such a lovely blog to read. Keep up the good work!:)

    Asalaamu Alaikum Qaisha,

I never thought to put it on MMC, duh..I kept thinking I have no facebook so how can I get the word out. I didn't expect to win but really thought my daughter would; she has so many fans!

  8. Reflecting on that, I would have to say that I'm usually trying to diversify my different circles. Not everyone reciprocates the feeling but it does lead to great experiences and discussions. What do you think? Being a friendly person is important to me and I love hearing the stories of different people.

  9. Of course I love to extend my circles! I guess that's why I keep marrying immigrants and had so many immigrant friends over the years. However muslim immigrants are much harder to get close to than non-muslim immigrants are. I really don't know the reason for this. Also its really hard to become friends with non-muslims when you are muslim. So overall I found it much easier to extend my circle when I was a Christian. It shouldn't be this way but it seems to be the case. I think I'm easy to get along with and have been told I am down-to-earth so I really don't know why its so difficult. I love to learn about other people's stories too and it so much more interesting and accurate than the media when it comes to immigrants. I must say thought that Malaysians are one of the most friendly muslim immigrants groups there are and that is perhaps why a Malaysian is my husband. Second generation muslims are pretty open-minded too but they are a lot younger than I am. (this is kind of hijacking the thread; we are talking about an RIS speech that spoke of extending your circle)
