Two Mennonite Novels
Irma Voth: A Novel This post is for my Mennonite turned Muslim friend. I saw these two novels; Irma Voth and A Complicated Kindness, featured in Chatelaine and thought of her. Do I have any other Mennonite readers or former ones? Nevertheless these look like interesting books for anyone to read.

As salaam alaikum,
ReplyDeleteMaashaa Allah, I am intrigued as well. There was a large Mennonite population in Harrisonburg, VA where I worked on my teaching certificate as well as performed my student teaching. Actually, there is a college there called Eastern Mennonite Unversity.

ReplyDeleteThere are a lot around where I live too. I'd always heard they didn't usually go on to post secondary school so am surprised about the University you mention.
Started to read this book and didn't like it. The main character was so anti-religion. I guess we have to try to see the world through the character's eyes but it was so overdone.
