The 18th Best Place to Retire is.................

Drumroll please.............its Malaysia. Vietnam is 17 . Read the article here.  Would you retire overseas? I just want to be where my kids are insha Allah.

    Salam sister, I can't imagine anyone wanting to retire in another country other than their own..You might be familiar with the Malay proverb: "hujan emas di negeri orang..." (wierd.. but somehow acceptable) Anyhow, I think one place I'd like to be in my old age would be Mecca or Madinah, don't you think? Just a thought!

    I'm busy working on my parents as we speak! My Dad retires this year and my mother the next. Inshallah they will move to Malaysia within a year or two.

    Mecca or Medinah? Hmm..I don't really like the way things are run in Saudi so can't really see myself there. I've heard nothing but complaints from both Muslims and non-Muslims living there. And if you want to stay you cannot anyway because no one can get citizenship ever and contracts only last a few years. I like how the gold is raining here but dh still prefers his rocks, lol.
