My Health Journey

For the next couple of months I intend on chronicling my health journey. As you may have read from other posts I have hypothryoidism. It started after my third child. After my 10th child was about 18 months I started to have a circulation problem in my feet which then went to my legs. I want to get better and I am taking steps with the help of Allah, believe me the medical community is no help. For my legs I had two MRI's which showed swelling on my spine. No conclusive diagnoses though and no cure or treatment. What have I been doing so far? First of all I started taking NutraBee Be Active honey and herbs. That helped with the numbness in my thighs which had me almost not able to walk and made me quit Tae Kwon Do. I still have numbness from the knees down. This is the first part of my confession. I haven't wanted to talk about this as I find it quite painful but insha Allah I hope that my partial recovery and journey can help someone else. Allah is the healer and to Him we turn and to Him we are grateful. If you find this topic interesting, please comment. May Allah keep us all healthy and able to serve Him. Amin.

  1. Oh, this is so very interesting to me! I've also got Hypothyroidism and would LOVE to get natural help for it. So tired of being tired. Exhausted, really...and the constant fight with the depression -- yeah, I could do without that!

  2. Oops, I forgot to say my salams!

Asalam Alaykum --- and Ma Salama.

  3. Salams C,
    May you find relief ,inshaAllah.

I have an award on my blog for you, just some sunshine I am passing along.

Will mail you with a contact address to a close friend who might be able to help you with your health.

  4. Wa alaikum salaam Heather

You might like to start with the honey I'm taking. It gives you extra energy too. Also you might want to get them to recheck your levels because it sounds like you are not on the right dose. Have you been to an endocrinologist? I haven't but my sister did and they were more helpful than the regular GP.

  5. Wa alaikum Salaam SimplyMe

Amin to your dua. Thank you for the award! Insha Allah your friend can help. My email in case you didn't see it on this site is omwits at gmail.com

  6. I recommend this website: http://www.westonaprice.org/ You can type 'hypothyroidism' in the search box to find relevant articles. This organization promotes real nutrition (nourshing, traditional foods). I have been following their recommendations for pregnant women and am 100% happy with the results: I am 8 months pregnant and have had NO problems so far. I don't have high blood pressure, swelling, anemia or anything at all and the midwife says the baby is growing incredibly well. I also have lots of energy and am always in good mood:)
All my family has been in excellent health since we discovered Weston Price foundation so I hope you will find some good advice on regaining health on their website.
