Vegetable Oil causes hypothyroidism?

We were discussing oils today and to end an argument I started googling and found this interesting article. I have heard a lot of things cause hypothyroidism including flouride but I never heard about oil.

  2. Yes it does. I NEVER use vegetable oils in my house. I use healthy traditional fats like butter for cooking, and olive oil for salad dressings. Veg oils cause a lot of ailments and are (with white flour and sugar) the main cause of the epidemic of heart disease in the world. Here is a long article about veg oils and how they were promoted in US: http://www.westonaprice.org/know-your-fats/the-oiling-of-america

There is also a very interesting lecture about it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvKdYUCUca8&list=FLu6qDxAKWoY-wNPUcz_Nmog&index=1&feature=plpp_video

  3. Asalaamu Alaikum

You're welcome Stacey for the article.

Sumayah I just read the article...wow, violence, suicide..the article is mostly about trans fats which I always knew were evil but it does mention oils too. I was surprised to learn that cereal was used to replace eggs. I know eggs have had a bad rap for years but never realized that there was a conspiracy when it came to breakfast cereal. Its hard to change your mind when you have been brainwashed all your life. You look at an egg and you think heart attack. I don't think immigrants have these hangups though. Still need to watch the video. Thanks for sharing.

  4. thyroid probelms are very common in women, 1 in 8 women will expereince thyroid probelms. Its good to get it checked. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid so I had to remove it. You can kind of check for yourself by feeling your neck but also get a medical testings. May Allah always provide us with good health!
